At makandra, we develop and operate web applications and AI solutions for processes that cannot afford to fail. We are a team of 50+ employees from various disciplines and work on projects for clients ranging from scale-ups to large corporations, such as Audi, Siemens, and ProSiebenSat.1.

Our applications run reliably and will still be maintainable even ten years from now. This is made possible by a defined tech stack, high test coverage, realistic effort estimates, and close coordination within the team and with our clients. Throughout our company’s history, we have delivered every project on time and in budget.

What you will learn with us

Most of the technical staff at makandra started out in one of our two trainee programs. In these programs, we provide you with a highly condensed overview of all the practical knowledge you’ll need to eventually work with us as a full-stack web developer or DevOps engineer. So, depending on whether you’re more interested in web development or Linux and cloud topics, choose the program that’s right for you.

Full-stack web development trainee program

Learn how to create stable and technically outstanding web applications from complex requirements. In addition to our technology stack (Ruby, JavaScript, CSS), you will also learn agile methods and test automation.

DevOps Engineer Trainee Program

In the DevOps Engineer trainee program, you will learn everything you need to work as an infrastructure and operations expert. If Linux is in your blood and you are passionate about cloud topics, this is the right place for you.

Trainee program

What We Offer

Practice-Oriented Training

Initially, you will practice what you've learned on trial projects. Later, you will independently work on real projects.

Mentoring

At the beginning of the program, you will be assigned an experienced mentor who will accompany, support, and challenge you throughout the curriculum.

Fair Trainee salary

With our trainee program, we sponsor your education because you will not yet be working on our projects at the beginning. To allow you to focus on learning during the trainee program, you will receive a salary of €3000 per month.

Living and Working in Augsburg

Even as a trainee, you will already benefit from our home office policy, but you will still spend most of your time working in our office. Augsburg is a vibrant university city with a great mix of urban life, abundant nature, and reasonable living costs.

Flexible working hours

We believe in working successfully as a team while ensuring the flexibility each person needs. We foster productive collaboration without rigid core hours. Our employees work together effectively in a variety of part-time arrangements.

Free food and drinks

Our full-time chef prepares 2–3 lunch dishes for all employees to choose from every day. Lunch is free of charge for everyone. All diets and allergies are catered for. Coffee, drinks, fruits and snacks are provided.
