What Drives Us: A Passion for Good Technology
Founded in 2009, makandra is a software engineering company specializing in business-critical custom software and data-secure AI applications. A team of over 50 employees builds software from the ground up, using a test-driven approach and focusing on long-term reliability. The foundation of over 200 successful projects: more than 15 years of project experience, with every project delivered on time and within budget. makandra builds software that companies can rely on, getting it right the first time.
We prioritize project outcomes that we and our team can be proud of, and that help our clients achieve their goals. To make this happen, we focus on continuous learning and knowledge transfer, and on never standing still. The IT industry is constantly evolving, and we respond early on to new developments and opportunities with enthusiasm and curiosity.

What has guided us from the very beginning is our focus on code quality. In our very first project, we decided to integrate automated tests into the software. We wanted to ensure that the applications we develop run flawlessly and provide our customers with a reliable solution. We continue to uphold this high standard to this day.

Our Mission: Software that fits – built right the first time
Many software projects fail and have to be rewritten after a short time. But not with us. Our mission is to get projects right the first time and to use our clients’ resources wisely.
We’re passionate technologists. We’re driven by the joy of creating excellent software and elegant solutions to tricky problems. We take pride in thinking through a challenging problem to find a clean solution, as well as in knowing that this solution will still work and deliver real results five or ten years from now. Our greatest success is the moment when we look at an application and know: This turned out really well from a technical standpoint, and it solves exactly the problem the client brought us in to solve.
For us, excellent software is not an end in itself. It’s the foundation that ensures business-critical processes run reliably and error-free, allowing our clients to focus on what really matters to them.
We work with clean code, automated tests, and high quality standards. Our team takes responsibility for our clients’ solutions and stands by them for the long term. We work in a structured manner using a mature technology stack that we’ve been mastering for years.
We don't keep what we learn from our projects to ourselves. We document it publicly, maintain the tools we use, and train our developers and DevOps engineers ourselves.
